The most valuable tools (for designers) are those that help sustain creativity and momentum. Eagle’s browser extension is one of those tools - there when you need it and vanishes when you don’t. It requires virtually no effort to use and enables you to stay in the zone. What else could you want?

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

From saving and finding assets to AI, file storage and pricing, find out whether Eagle fits the way you work.

What is Eagle, and who is it for?

Eagle is a visual asset management tool for designers and creative professionals. It brings collecting, organizing, searching and browsing into one library. If your reference images, screenshots, videos and design assets are scattered across websites, downloads and past projects, Eagle helps you keep them together so you can find and reuse them later.

How is Eagle different from organizing files in regular folders?

Eagle gives you ways to preview, collect, organize and search that are designed for visual assets. One asset can belong to several folders, with tags, ratings, notes and source URLs to help you find it from different angles. A poster can appear in both “Brand References” and “Typography” without making a second copy.

What can I manage in Eagle besides images?

Alongside images and screenshots, Eagle can manage GIFs, videos, audio, fonts, web bookmarks and many design file formats. Keep different kinds of reference material together for the same project. Preview support varies by operating system, version and installed plugins.

Explore asset previews

How do I save reference images from websites and keep their sources?

Install the Eagle browser extension to save web assets by dragging, right-clicking, batch saving or taking screenshots, while keeping source URLs. You can also choose folders, add tags and write notes as you collect. Record why an image caught your attention so you can revisit its source and remember what made it useful.

Can I find an image in Eagle if I have forgotten its filename?

Start with clues you remember, such as its color, tags, format or date added. The official AI Search plugin also lets you find visually similar images in your library or search existing names, descriptions and notes using everyday language. Descriptive text gives that language search more information to work with.

Do I need to organize every folder and tag before I can use Eagle?

You do not need a complete classification system to get started. Collect what you need, add useful names, descriptions or notes, and create project folders for assets you want to view and compare together. Your organization can evolve with your work. What matters is being able to find and use your assets when you need them.

Can an AI assistant collect and organize assets in Eagle for me?

Yes. Eagle Skill and MCP are official tools that connect supported AI assistants to Eagle. After installation and setup, an assistant can help collect web assets, clean up tags, plan folders and update names and descriptions in batches. Review the scope and proposed plan before allowing bulk changes.

Where does Eagle store my files? Are they uploaded to the cloud?

Eagle libraries use local storage, and you choose where to keep them. If you add cloud sync tools, plugins or third-party AI services, whether assets, text or previews are sent elsewhere depends on the services and settings you enable.

Do Eagle’s AI features need an internet connection?

It depends on the feature. The official AI Search plugin analyzes and searches assets locally, so those operations work offline. When you connect an external AI assistant or model service, internet requirements and data handling depend on the tools you choose.

Is Eagle a subscription, and can I try it first?

Eagle currently offers a one-time purchase and a 30-day trial with all features available. Try collecting, organizing, searching and browsing your own assets before deciding whether to buy.
